60% of Waqf properties are under illegal occupation/encroachment by non-Muslim land mafias, reportedly in greater numbers than Muslims.
Waqf properties caught in illegal occupation or encroachment are currently seen being converted into commercial settlements in urban areas. In rural areas, Waqf lands appear to have been unlawfully merged with agricultural fields and are being cultivated for crop production.
A general disclosure regarding all Waqf properties in the Tilhar area is likely to reveal who is actually in illegal possession of Waqf lands.
